Application Tips: Do’s and Don’ts

What surfaces can the decals be applied to?
They can be applied to recycle bins and other smooth surfaces such as ceilings, glass, sealed concrete floors, smooth metal, tile, plastic surfaces and finished wood furniture. Keep in mind, the less porous the surface, the more effort it will take to remove the decal.

Is the decal easy to remove? If so, how?
Removal is easy. We recommend that you use a hairdryer (set on low heat) to warm the decal, which releases the adhesive and makes it even easier to peel off. Peel up an edge with your fingernail and slowly peel the decal off the wall.

Application

There is a way to apply decals so that they are smooth with no "air bubbles."

We recommend that you apply the decal left to right, top to bottom, or vice versa. Start by pulling up a corner of the decal, followed by the whole side. After removing the side from the back of the decal, start applying the whole side (or top or bottom) to your surface. Slowly remove the back while you apply the rest of the decal with no air bumps.

On regualar orders (between 1-100 stickers) you should recieve it in 7 to 14 days.

I know all recycle bin/trash can decals are removable, but how long will the decals stay up?

The decals are perfect for temporary applications, but if you take care of it, it will last for years. Indoors, decals will last 3 to 5 years easily.

What size are they?

The recycle bin/trash can decals come in rectangle shapes.

Do you take returns?
Recyclebinsticker does not offer refunds or accept returns on any product or custom products or projects. We're happy to offer an exchange for any items that are not completely satisfactory. Exchanges are accepted within 14 days of the date of receipt. Packages must be returned in perfect, unopened condition.

What are the decals made from?
The recycle bin/trash can decals are made from an ultra-thin,

self-adhesive matte vinyl (plastic-3) film. About the ink:

What is single-stream vs. multi-stream recycling?

Single-stream means that you do not sort your recyclables – they are sorted later in a plant. Single-stream recycling means that you put all of your recyclables (cardboard, paper, plastic, etc…) in the same bin and place it on the curb for pickup. Multi-stream, on the other hand, is what most Americans are familiar with and means that you separate your recyclables, placing cardboard in a different bin from paper, metal, etc…

Some recycling programs utilize a fusion of the two types. For example, I place my glass in one container (multi-stream) next to my mixed container for everything else (like single-stream). Whibbey Recyclables focuses more on decals for single-stream recycling due to the fact that the country is moving more in this direction and away from multi-stream. The plant can separate recyclables efficiently.
